As me and my sister {well mainly my sister as she is already in New York and knows the neighborhoods, and can go see the places live} are looking for apartments, one thing we are coming across is both bedrooms do not have closets. The words "no closet" should be added to the list of ones you cannot say in my presence, because not having a closet in your bedroom is like having a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with no peanut butter, a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch with no milk, a trip to Nordstrom without buying shoes - it just doesn't go together. So as we continue to look for the perfect space, I decided to look for a few ideas for how we can compromise and create a closet that maximizes the small space and allows for enough storage without making your room look cluttered and unkempt.
I like this idea of adding floor to ceiling shelving to one of the walls in your bedroom, and hiding all of the clutter {if you know me, you know that clutter makes me nervous and on edge} by adding a floor to ceiling curtain. This could definitely be an option for us. 8 days to go and still homeless....
8 days to go with MANY options! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, this idea may be even better looking than a closet. Knowing that only a thin curtain is separating the potential clutter from the rest of the world is motivation enough to keep it organized and beautiful. Good luck with the apartment search!
